Three New GWWO-Designed Schools Open for the Start of the School Year

Yesterday the new school year officially began for Maryland Public Schools as thousands of students went back to school.  Of those students, some 2,300 started classes in three new schools designed by GWWO:  Frederick High School in Frederick County, Relay Elementary School in Baltimore County, and Wheaton Woods Elementary School in Montgomery County.  All three schools were designed to replace their existing schools following feasibility studies that determined a replacement school as the best option for revitalizing the facilities and expanding for increased enrollment.  Each school, with its own unique identity, was designed in alignment with 21st century learning principles and with a focus on flexibility in order to provide continuous learning opportunities outside the classroom.
