    Cade Museum Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony

Last Friday, the Cade Museum for Creativity + Invention hosted a groundbreaking ceremony coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the invention of Gatorade by Dr. Robert Cade, the museum’s namesake, and his team.  Conceived as a metaphor for the human brain, the museum is organized around one space—the Main Hall—where all experiences come together.  Wedge-shaped galleries extend from the hall in a spiral reminiscent of the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio.  Located in Gainsville’s historic Depot Park, construction of the 21,000-SF first phase of the project is expected to be complete in early 2017 at a cost of $10M.  When the second phase is complete, the museum will total 47,000-SF.
