Scott Moir, AIA, CDT, CPD has achieved the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Professional Certification (CPD) from the National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP), upon completion of a series of certification courses.
The coursework focused on CPTED’s five guiding principles that are intended to create an environment that positively influences human behavior: Natural Access Control, Territorial Reinforcement, Natural Surveillance, Maintenance, and Social Management, as well as the collaborative approach to implementing CPTED. When put into practice, these principles become part of a holistic design process that creates safer spaces for our communities, further enriching the human experience.
